Shopping Spree!
Here's a fact about myself: I don't like to go out.
The last movie I watched? Harry Potter.
The last I've been downtown with friends? Wilfred's birthday a year ago.
So that explains my lack of fashion sense..(yep, football jerseys are SO fashionable)
If you placed me in Orchard Road without a map, I WILL be lost. REALLY. The only place I know how to go to is the Famous Amos shop at John Little. (Just follow the smell.)
How about another fact? Even my GRANDMA has been to Orchard Road more than me. Lie, I do not.
On Friday, I, Dan the Modern Caveman, officially went to Orchard Road with my family for a shopping spree. (Grandma included) Great Singapore Sale what.
We went to Takashimaya (SP?) first. Holy shit! The lights, the people, the noise..and not to mention the CHIOBUS. ARHHHHHH. I need to go out more.
While my relatives were busy picking out items to buy, I blurred my way around a bit...and it was a cheapskate's nightmare. BELTS GOING FOR $178? And they were on discounts!
"Great Singapore Sale" my ass!
Went to check out the toy department. 8 years ago, I would have gone, "OMG I WANT THIS, I WANT THIS" but now, it's...
"ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ."
BUT, I went to the kitchen utensils department, AND BOY WAS IT FUN.
Knives, whisks, pizza-cutters, can openers! ZomG it was the bomb. Man, you guys should have seen the new coffee makers. They have little whirlpools in them! I bet I could make good Milo in that! And how about the washing machines? More buttons, more fun.
*sigh* I wish I had those in my cave right now.
Finally after that, we went to the sports department. My FAVOURITE department.
Boots! What will I ever wear without boots? (probably my old pair of slippers which were so worn out, they once made me skate 6 metres down a wet pavement on a rainy day, much to my embarrassment) I just love laying my eyes on all the new boots. They're all so shiny and have such cool designs...if only they were attached to my feet..SO NEAR, YET SO FAR. *cries*
Jerseys! What will I ever wear without jerseys? (besides my Eagle T-Shirt) They were selling mostly International jerseys....the Spain one was quite purdy. Nope, no Arsenal jerseys. *cries*
Footballs! What will I ever kick besides a football? (probably Kendrick's ass) Yes, the sight of balls make my feet itchy. Nothing turn me on better than balls. I love all kinds of balls. Size 1 to 5 balls, doesn't matter. I kick all balls. Ahh...balls.
A big part of my everyday life. *happy* (I urge you, please stabilize your mind)
Oh yeah, I saw this World Cup Adidas ball....gold in colour. It was supposed to be the match ball for the World Cup Final...and it was going for a spine-tingling, wallet-burning, parent-screeching, eye-popping, heart-stopping, credit-card-slashing $189.00. Just for a ball. I could go watch the Final with that kind of money.
And for those of you who think that's reasonable, I don't mind belated birthday gifts....*WINK* *WINK* ^o^
After that it was all boring.....an eternity later, they finished shopping and we all went home. Strangely, the cars were flying and there were robots sweeping the floors. And I thought I saw a space-station up in the sky. Some people were pointing at us, wailing, "HAHA, WHEELS".
We reached home after sundown....I shaved off my beard and proceeded back into my cave to play with my newly-acquired kitchen utensils.
What a day!
